The Optimist and The Pessimist
I'm sure everyone has heard of theories behind The Optimist and The Pessimist.
The Glass
If you see a glass half filled with water, do you see it as half full? Or half empty?
Optimists see it as half full, and pessimists see it as half empty. Most people see it as half empty. Actually, I think almost everyone does. How can anyone see a glass as half full? Doesn't make sense. But it does.
If I were to give you a blank piece of paper with a black dot on it, what do you notice? You obviously look at the black dot, and fail to be aware of the white space around it. It's like our flaws. We always get upset when people pick on our flaws and critisize us, but it is only because the black dot is more distinct and obvious as compared to the white paper, thats why we tend to forget about people's good qualities- the white space.
This, I guess, is really nobody's fault. Maybe one can blame it on humanity. It is only human to complain about the bad stuff, and forget about all the wonderful things we are blessed with.
In a way, everybody is a pessimist. The only optimistic people are the ones who have tasted real sorrow and near death, thats why they appreciate the little things that seem so futile.
Reality
Maybe you can sit there and complain about how much your life sucks, that no one wants to step into your fucked up shoes and try to understand your fucked up life. Everyone knows that your life sucks, and some of us actually do have a hard time, only that we choose not to take it out on other people. Yes, even the 'rich little girls'.
What I'm trying to say is, everybody's life sucks. You just have to get used to it.
There are some things in the world that you just can't change. The only thing you can control and change is yourself.
The Optimist and The Pessimist, what a great theory that hardly anyone can achieve. Still, try to keep it in mind when you want to start feeling sorry for yourself, because there are about a billion more people who are worse than you.
Be optimistic, and things will start looking up.

I don´t believe in your thory about life always being hard. Yeah, your computer might be slow- but hey, atleast you have one. Maybe your friends are all busy and can´t call you today- atleast you know they´re thinking of you. Maybe you´re hurting- atleast you know you´re alive.
Can´t say I could see the glass as half full, but that doesn´t make one a pessimist... Certain amount of pessimism is good, as long as it´s not taking over.
Keep writing, your blog seems interesting!

in my opinion, only the most ignorant or the most intelligent would be optimists. or those dying ones, as u say.
Those very intelligent ppl choose to be optimists as they have already thought of a solution. tht is, they alrdy knew tht life is not without its ups and downs, and they might as well be optimistic, for they know truly the meaning of living.
those very ignorant, who are optimists, i dun nid to state the reason do i? they are just plain ignorant of the world and life.U can call tht naiviety. u can also call tht ignorance. it depends on which perspective u look at it.
Those dying, they might have very well known that thier life is nearing its end, and thus, they would be optimistic,but, hey, who wans to die with so many burdens?
so you are, in the sense in the middle. not so intelligent, but not ignorant either. thts why u are a pessimist.
and sad to say, there are people who truly care. truly.

For there is love in this world.
not tht kind of romantic love between a man and woman, but also the parents' love for their children, The care and concern that true friends give each other, and god's love for us.
For, when love dies completely from earth, it shall be the virtual end of this world.
