Once bitten, twice shy

This wall I built around myself is the product of all my anger and frustration that has been built up, day after day, week after week, month after month, and year after year.
Like the bricks of the walls, they stay firm and hard, and they stop anyone from coming. Coming in.
Some people walk past the wall, either too busy with their lives to notice, or too caught up with themselves to care.
Some knock on it, realising that it is actually firm, and then walk away.
Some try to climb it, but give up halfway.
Once in a while, some take a bulldozer and force their way in, breaking the tiles. But like taking a pebble, and thrownig it into a clam river, the ripples form, and more ripples form, until the energy dies down. But by the time the energy is used up, what is left of your wall is the pile of sand and concrete you find on the ground.
Underneath the wall, you are naked. People see you. And you get hurt.
After crying, you get up on your feet, and built that exact same wall again. This time, because of the lesson learnt, you build an even thicker wall, with even thicker bricks, so that this time, if someone tries to force his way in, your wall will not completely break down.
And when it does, you repeat the exact same cycle. The exact same vicious cycle.

Life lesson learnt. Never let your masks slip, because then you would be naked. Naked and vulnerable.
It is better to hide it. To pretend.

My wall will never fail me.

Once bitten, twice shy.
